Sharon Gabay — portrait and headshot photographer

Headshots & personal portraiture

Headshots for Women

One photograph has to hold two things at once: professional authority, and a real person behind it. Most headshots give up on one of them.

Hundreds of women have been photographed in Sharon Gabay's studio — senior executives, lawyers, doctors, researchers and artists — alongside women who came for a personal portrait, with no connection to a business at all. Both paths have a place here.

Two tracks

Two kinds of photography, one way of working

Professional headshots

For a website, LinkedIn, press and a professional profile. Precise lighting, a clean background, an expression that carries confidence without looking frozen. Right for executives, lawyers, doctors, consultants, academics and business owners.

Personal portraiture

Photography that is an end in itself. Light, shadow, quiet. A photograph you want to hang on a wall, not upload to LinkedIn. No deadline, no marketing brief.

The process

How it works

  1. 01

    A short conversation

What the photo is for, where it's going, and what matters to you in how you come across.

  2. 02

    Preparation

What to wear and how to get ready. I send it over in advance.

  3. 03

    The shoot

In the professional studio, or I come to you with a full mobile studio, anywhere in Israel.

  4. 04

    Selection and editing

We go through the frames together, and you choose.

The method

Documentary expression

My method isn't built on posing. I wait for the moment a person stops being photographed and simply starts being. That is what separates a photo that looks good from a photo that looks like you.

Reviews

What women say

Beyond the deep regard I have for him personally, I greatly value his professional ability to hold both a person and a landscape and to bring out the essence of each.
Dr. Orna BerryScientist
A session with Sharon is one of the best, most generous gifts I've given myself. A fun, light atmosphere that brought out my best. I discovered a gifted person with high emotional intelligence that shows in rare, beautiful photos.

I came to Sharon under terrible stress, convinced I hate being photographed but knowing I needed photos for my website. Over a cup of coffee and within a few minutes of conversation, he created exactly the right atmosphere.

Q&A

Frequently asked questions

How much does a headshot session for a woman cost?
It depends on the package — on the number of outfit changes and the number of edited photos. The full price list is on the services and pricing page. Services & pricing →
Do I need hair and makeup?
Recommended, but not required. My lighting is built so that even without heavy makeup the photo comes out natural and flattering. If you'd like, a makeup artist can be booked in advance.
What should I wear for a headshot?
For a professional headshot: solid colors, no loud prints, and something you feel good in. I send a full preparation guide before the shoot.
Do you come to me?
Yes. I come with a full mobile studio anywhere in Israel — to the office, the clinic or your home — or we shoot in the professional studio.
I don't photograph well. What do we do?
That's the sentence I hear most. In most cases it isn't the face — it's the lighting, the angle and how you feel in front of the camera. All three are in my control.
How long does a session take?
A focused headshot session takes about an hour. A full session with several outfit changes takes two to three hours.
